Much information about possible trade and interaction between regions can be gleaned from glass as a material type, but in order to do so it is important to analyse a larger sample. Small samples (such as those shown here) are not large enough to properly display large trends and are biased in the dating of their material for reasons that cannot be checked. They can, however, give some first insights and show a tentative picture of the past.

Still, there are over 600 more glass sherds from the Athenian Agora awaiting analyses, which might teach us much more about the city, its trade networks and the wealth of its citizens. They can be compared to other assemblages and might be used to complete the picture we now see only through a mirror.
